# About Maple Marketry

Pricing arithmetic for makers, laid out like a well-fitted inlay: every piece of the price in its place.

## What it is

Maple Marketry is a small set of free calculators for people who make things by hand and sell them: candles, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles, prints. They cover the questions that come up when you set a price: what a piece really costs, what to charge a shop and a customer, how markup differs from margin, how many sales cover your bills, and what your time is worth per hour.

## How it works

Each calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and the pages keep working if your connection drops after they have loaded. The formulas are written out on each page, with links to the sources they come from.

## What it is not

These are educational tools, not financial or tax advice. They do the arithmetic on the numbers you give them; whether a price works also depends on your market, your selling fees and the tax rules where you live. There is no company, shop or service behind the site, and nothing to buy.
